The East Taylors Creek Channel was dredged in early April, 2017 by US Army Corps of Engineers to a depth of 7′ MLW. This maintenance dredging project was funded this year by Carteret County and matched by State of NC Shallow Draft Fund. See detail below of 2017 dredged area which is on the north side of the Taylors Creek Channel.
